About Bord Iascaigh Mhara
Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) is the State Agency responsible for the development of the Irish Seafood Industry. Established in 1952 under The Irish Sea Fisheries Act, BIM has been dedicated to supporting and nurturing the Irish seafood industry for over seven decades. With its head office in Dun Laoghaire, Co.
Dublin, and a Seafood Innovation Hub in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, as well as regional offices along the coast, BIM works tirelessly to ensure the growth and sustainability of the Irish seafood sector. Their vision is to establish Ireland as a global leader in high-value, differentiated seafood products that meet the increasing demand for safe, healthy, and responsibly sourced seafood.
BIM’s mission is to aid in the creation of value in the sustainability of the Irish seafood sector, from catch to consumer. Through their strategy for 2022-2026, BIM aims to redefine industry standards and reshape the sector as a whole, with the ultimate goal of a sustainable future
