Bindwell

Bindwell is a molecular discovery company building a system to design and test molecules at greater speed and scale. The company is starting with pesticides, where frequent testing offers a faster feedback loop than drug development, which may require years and clinical trials to assess a model in its target organism. Bindwell combines data, computing, neural networks, and laboratory automation, aiming to create a “wet lab” that generates large-scale experimental data for machine learning. Rather than hand-designing pesticides, the team seeks to develop general methods that learn from experimental results and can ultimately advance molecular discovery more broadly.

Founded by engineers Tyler Rose and Navvye Anand, who met at the Wolfram Research Program in 2023, Bindwell describes itself as a small team focused on solving challenging problems in biology. Its work draws on the belief that methods capable of scaling with data and computation can outperform approaches built primarily on human-designed rules. Bindwell is recruiting people in machine learning, chemistry, and laboratory automation.
