The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Binghamton University is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all students, faculty, staff, and the local community. Established through the university's Road Map initiative, DEI promotes core values like unity, identity, excellence, and justice. It provides essential training and programming aimed at enhancing cultural competency and addressing issues of bias and discrimination within academic and social spaces.

DEI oversees the recruitment processes for faculty and staff and supports the retention of underrepresented individuals in the university community. Additionally, it offers resources such as the UDiversity Educational Institute and the Multicultural Resource Center, along with various affinity groups that celebrate diverse identities. By conducting investigations regarding allegations of discrimination and fostering transparent communication, DEI strives to create a thriving campus for all. This commitment to social justice ensures that every voice is heard and valued, making Binghamton University a leader in promoting diversity and inclusion.
