Binghamton Motorsports

Binghamton Motorsports is a student-run, multidisciplinary organization at Binghamton University, recognized by the Society of Automotive Engineers International. Its members come from a range of academic backgrounds, including engineering and economics, and work together to design, build, and validate competitive vehicles. The organization comprises two teams: Baja and Formula. Each team develops its vehicle in-house, with the work supported by experienced shop technicians and faculty. Through these projects, members gain opportunities to apply and strengthen their engineering, problem-solving, and project-management skills.

Competition is an important part of the team’s work, and Binghamton Motorsports aims to improve its standings each year. The organization also offers ways for supporters to get involved, including donations designated for either the Formula or Baja team, sponsorship, and contact with the organization. With more than 20 years of experience, 128 current members, over 10 competitions, and 25 company sponsors, Binghamton Motorsports brings students and supporters together around hands-on vehicle development and student learning.
