About BioBuu
Biobuu Limited is an East African insect company that focuses on sustainable solutions for the food and agriculture industry. With a factory model, they produce high protein chicken and fish feed using the larvae of the Black soldier fly. These flies can consume up to 70% of their body weight in waste every day, producing 50 grams of protein for every kilogram of organic waste consumed.
By recycling nutrients in food waste, Biobuu aims to address the challenges of a growing global population and the environmental impact of meat production. Their products include Kuku Bonge Insect Derived Protein, a dried larvae with 48. 9% protein and 26% fat content, which can be used as a replacement for soymeal or fishmeal in chicken or fish diets.
They also offer the Kuku Bonge home bin, an innovative solution for reducing food waste and producing live larvae for chickens or fish. Additionally, Biobuu produces organic fertilizer made from organic waste processed by their insects, which contains high amounts of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous for farming and gardening. With a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness, Biobuu is expanding its operations and plans to open insect processing plants across Africa.
By harnessing the power of insects, they aim to transform waste management, improve animal feed production, and contribute to a more sustainable future
