Biochemia Medica, the official journal of the Croatian Society of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, covers a wide range of research in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. This journal welcomes studies on clinical chemistry, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, toxicology, pharmacology, and endocrinology, as well as methods development and evaluation. Additionally, it focuses on laboratory organization, automation, quality, and safety, along with standardization and reference values.

Preanalytical case reports, biostatistics lessons, and research integrity topics are also featured regularly. Genetic association studies and certain experimental studies are not within the journal's scope. Biochemia Medica is an open access journal with articles under CC-BY Creative Commons Attribution License.

Published three times a year, this publication is supported by the Croatian Society of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine members and grants from the Ministry of Science and Education in Croatia. Editorial work is voluntary, and occasional promotional material is published to support sponsorship in the laboratory medicine field
