Biodiversity Data

The Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure (SBDI) serves as the national access point for open biodiversity data, supporting both groundbreaking research and vital international policymaking. It offers a rich repository of data stemming from a variety of sources, including monitoring programs, citizen science projects, natural history collections, and genetic analyses of environmental samples, predominantly focused on Swedish biodiversity, but inclusive of global sources through partnerships like GBIF.

SBDI provides a suite of powerful tools and services designed for users to explore, search, download, and analyze biodiversity data with ease. Its offerings include the SBDI Bioatlas—an integrated platform for climate, environmental, and geological data—to enhance understanding of Sweden's ecosystems. Users can also leverage specialized tools for unique data types and applications, all freely accessible upon registration. Committed to advocacy for data transparency, SBDI emphasizes the importance of proper citation and collaboration with other global biodiversity data initiatives, ensuring that crucial information remains accessible and impactful.
