About Bioenergy Association of New Zealand
Bioenergy is the future of renewable energy. It is the most widely used form of renewable energy globally, surpassing hydroelectricity and wind power. Bioenergy encompasses heat, electricity, and fuel for transportation, offering a flexible and extensive energy source that can be integrated with other business manufacturing co-products.
In New Zealand, bioenergy has the potential to create a thriving industry, particularly benefiting rural communities through economic growth, improved land use, and new employment opportunities. The Bioenergy Association of New Zealand is dedicated to promoting and expanding the bioenergy and biofuels sector. Already, more than 9 percent of the country's energy comes from bioenergy.
Looking ahead, the vision is to triple biomass energy supply to meet 27 percent of New Zealand's energy needs by 2050, resulting in a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Investing in bioenergy means a cleaner environment, a stronger economy, and a brighter future for New Zealand
