Bioetikai Társaság

The Hungarian Society for Bioethics is a scholarly organization dedicated to the study and development of bioethics and related fields. Its work focuses especially on ethical questions raised by scientific and technological progress in relation to people and the environment. The Society emphasizes respect for and protection of life, the advancement of human rights, medical ethics, and ethical issues in society and the economy. Guided by the Christian tradition, it also addresses the preservation and development of the human environment and nature, while taking account of other philosophical perspectives and affirming mutual respect.

The organization shares its work through annual conferences, scientific meetings, public statements, and activities for a youth section. It also publishes the Hungarian Bioethics Review, with information for contributors, an editorial board, and an archive of past issues. Its events have explored topics including medical decision-making, crisis communication, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life questions, and the ethical implications of technology and biomedical research.
