SiLi Sigmund Lindner GmbH

Bioglitter® is a glitter brand developed by Sigmund Lindner to help reduce microplastic pollution through plant-cellulose-based alternatives to conventional glitter. Its products use a transparent film made from plant-derived cellulose, with coatings that provide colour, shine and durability. The brand offers Cosmetic ranges for applications such as makeup, body art and festival looks, as well as Deco products for printing, coatings, horticulture, DIY, events and other decorative or technical uses. Deco products are not intended for cosmetics.

The collection includes Sparkle glitter with metallic effects and Pure options in opal, opaque and matte finishes. Depending on the product, features include aluminium-free formulations, water resistance and high proportions of biobased carbon. Bioglitter® states that its ranges are designed to meet EU Microplastics Regulation 2023/2055 requirements; product properties vary by range. The company reports that its materials are biodegradable under specified conditions, with some products certified for biodegradation in freshwater. Bioglitter® is patented in the EU and United States, and its registered logo identifies products meeting the brand’s stated standards.
