Biological Carbon Canada

Biological Carbon Canada, also known as the Canadian Institute for Biological Carbon, is an Alberta-based non-profit society focused on strengthening the global competitiveness of Canada’s primary agriculture sectors. The organization works to support meaningful greenhouse gas reductions and carbon removals in farming and ranching, while helping create economic opportunities for producers. It promotes the adoption of technologies and management practices that can contribute to these outcomes and support broader societal, environmental, and government objectives.

Its work includes greenhouse gas market information, education and outreach, and a knowledge hub for agricultural carbon topics. The organization also provides resources such as an emissions calculator and information on regenerative agriculture, carbon markets, and environmental, social, and governance considerations. Through research, briefings, news, and other educational materials, Biological Carbon Canada shares perspectives on agricultural carbon policy, offset protocols, and producer incentives. Farmers, ranchers, and foresters can explore its resources, learn about opportunities to reduce or remove emissions, and get involved through membership and its quarterly Connections newsletter.
