Biooklab

Biooklab is an open biology laboratory dedicated to making science accessible through shared exploration of life and nature. With a social and environmental purpose, the brand draws on DIY biology and citizen science to encourage people of all ages to take part in scientific discovery. Biooklab is a spin-off of the nonprofit organisation Biook Elkartea.

Its range includes educational STEAM kits designed to be engaging, safe, challenging, and environmentally responsible, using recycled and eco-friendly materials. Examples include a muscle model kit, a robotic hand kit, and a smartphone microscope kit, with age recommendations and instructions for use. The kits help learners develop curiosity, creativity, observation, and analytical skills through hands-on activities.

Biooklab also delivers workshops, experimental shows, science projects, and other creative learning experiences. Topics include genetics, bio-art, microbiology, biodiversity, air-quality sensors, neuroscience, and robotics. Activities can be arranged for schools, institutions, homes, and other spaces. Additional services include science communication, guided visits, scientific and ecotourism, citizen-science projects, biodiversity data support, consulting, and help with STEAM and Agenda 2030 grant applications.
