Biosfera is a passionate association dedicated to the protection and conservation of coastal and marine species and their habitats in Cabo Verde. With a dual mission, they aim to promote the defense of these species and habitats while mobilizing the local community to protect the environment. As of 2022, Biosfera has achieved impressive numbers, including the protection of 2129 nests of common marine turtles on Santa Luzia and São Vicente.
Through their Sustainable Fishing project, they have also helped increase the monthly income of 48 fishermen. With the support of 200 volunteers, Biosfera is actively involved in various conservation efforts. Their strategic objectives include the conservation of coastal and marine species, the protection of habitats, promoting responsible artisanal fishing, reducing pollution, and inspiring communities to proactively participate in environmental protection.
