The Biodiversity Indicators Partnership (BIP) is a global initiative focused on promoting and coordinating the development of biodiversity indicators that help measure progress towards key international environmental targets. Collaborating with organizations such as the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), BIP supports the creation and application of indicators crucial for tracking biodiversity trends.

With over sixty international organizations as partners, BIP aims to enhance the use of indicators in reporting for Multilateral Environmental Agreements and strengthen national capacities for biodiversity monitoring through National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs). The initiative is hosted by the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre in Cambridge, UK. BIP not only facilitates indicator development but also provides essential resources and support to ensure effective implementation of biodiversity conservation efforts worldwide.
