Its interactive map displays flyway routes and seasonal movement, with controls for month, map view, layers, and species selection. Users can explore sightings or filter the map to show their own records.

The app includes a sighting logger for recording observations with coordinates and photo uploads, as well as a community feed for viewing shared activity. Regional leaderboards provide another way to follow participation. BMA also offers VIP hotspots as exclusive paid locations for birding and a portal for donating to avian conservation.

The species list includes Arctic Tern, Osprey, Bar-tailed Godwit, White Stork, Sandhill Crane, and notable species such as the California Condor, Whooping Crane, Spix’s Macaw, and Passenger Pigeon. It also includes several bat species. Account and login features provide access to the app’s mapping and community tools.
