Bird Rock Play Therapy

Bird Rock Play Therapy is a child-focused therapy service based in Torquay, Victoria, supporting families across the Surf Coast and parts of Geelong. Led by Nikki Sedgwick, the practice offers play therapy for children experiencing emotional, behavioural, or life challenges. Its approach recognises play as a natural way for children to communicate and make sense of experiences, particularly when they do not yet have the words to describe their feelings. In a warm, safe, and trusting therapeutic relationship, children can use play to explore emotions and work through difficulties.

Play therapy may support children dealing with anxiety, emotional outbursts, ADHD or ASD, trauma, family separation, school challenges, grief, low self-esteem, anger, selective mutism, chronic illness, disability, and sleep, toileting, or eating difficulties. The practice aims to help children build confidence and resilience, strengthen communication, and develop healthier coping and relationship skills. Bird Rock Play Therapy serves communities including Torquay, Jan Juc, Anglesea, Mount Duneed, Aireys Inlet, and Bellbrae, on Wathaurong Country.
