Birds Houston, formerly known as Houston Audubon, is dedicated to the awareness and preservation of bird species and their natural habitats. Established in 1969 by a passionate group of conservationists, the organization has continued to evolve while steadfastly focusing on community engagement for successful conservation efforts. Their mission emphasizes the importance of connecting people with nature, inspiring new generations to respect and advocate for avian life.

Birds Houston offers a comprehensive range of programs and services, including community outreach, educational activities for youth and adults, bird surveys, field trips, and special events like Birdathon and Bird Week. The organization also runs conservation initiatives such as habitat preservation projects, the Natives Nursery for native plants, and various advocacy efforts aimed at promoting bird-friendly practices within communities. By fostering a strong network of volunteers and supporters, Birds Houston invites everyone to join in their mission of ensuring birds and people can thrive together in harmony.
