Birdsong Farms is a family-owned ranch in Hearne, Texas, operated by Stephen and Martha Vogelsang. The farm raises performance Quarter Horses and Brangus cattle, with an emphasis on animals that combine strong pedigrees, appealing appearance, sound conformation, and working ability. Its horse program draws on Stephen’s experience in breeding and equine reproductive management, developed through Texas A&M University and decades of work managing breeding programs. Birdsong Farms also provides equine reproductive services at its facilities and at client locations.

The farm is an American Quarter Horse Association Ranching Heritage Breeder, making its eligible horses able to participate in Ranching Heritage Breeders Challenge events. Its horse facilities are located south of Hearne, while its cattle are primarily kept on native pasture in Milam County. The Vogelsangs also manage the ranch’s white-tailed deer population and devote some acreage to crops, including wheat, corn, sorghum, and cotton. The Birdsong name reflects the German meaning of Vogelsang and the family’s longstanding Texas ranching heritage.
