BirdSpot

BirdSpot is a mobile app for sharing bird observations, designed to help birdwatchers report sightings, follow activity and connect with others. Available for iOS and Android, it offers a free Light version and a Pro subscription, with a 30-day Pro trial and no automatic renewal during the trial. Pro costs DKK 19 per month or DKK 199 per year; users can also continue using the free version.

BirdSpot’s features include observation sharing, bird lists and customizable filters for chosen locations, with settings such as radius and preferred bird rarity. Pro members can receive real-time push notifications, follow an unlimited number of Flokks, create lists and set filters. Light users can view and create observations, use basic group and list functions, and receive notifications for one Flokk, subject to more limited update and filtering options.

Flokks are themed or geographically based groups where members can bring observations and discussions together. The app also supports comments and feedback on observations, and includes Google Maps directions to help users reach a reported sighting.
