Birdyulang Animations, founded by Bernard Higgins, is a vibrant creative studio based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, dedicated to highlighting First Nations voices through various forms of media. As a proud Wiradyuri man, Higgins intertwines cultural storytelling with animation, focusing on language revival and community-driven narratives. Currently pursuing a PhD at Charles Sturt University, Higgins is exploring the intersection of animation and community storytelling as a means to enhance language and identity among Indigenous communities. Birdyulang's projects are collaborative efforts with various stakeholders, including Elders and young Aboriginal leaders, and aim to foster healing and pride in Wiradyuri cultural heritage.
