Birmingham Heritage Week is a citywide celebration of Birmingham’s heritage, inviting residents and visitors to explore the city’s places, histories and stories. Organised by Birmingham Museums Trust, the 2026 programme runs from 11 to 20 September under the theme “Your heritage, your stories, your city. ” It features more than 250 events and activities, with options for a wide range of interests and ages.
The programme includes exhibitions, talks, tours and walks, workshops, film and performance, faith events, archive activities and family-friendly experiences. Visitors can browse events by date, category or location, including areas such as Bournville, the Jewellery Quarter, Sutton Coldfield, Yardley and the University of Birmingham. Listings highlight free and accessible events, and the website provides guidance for planning a visit, searching nearby activities and checking access details.
Some events have limited or capped ticket availability, so visitors are encouraged to check individual listings. Birmingham Heritage Week offers a welcoming way to discover the city’s heritage through events hosted across Birmingham
