Bitraf

Bitraf is a community-run makerspace and open cultural workshop located in Grünerløkka, Oslo. It welcomes curious beginners, hobbyists, artists and professionals to work on personal projects, collaborate and learn in a friendly, cross-disciplinary environment. Members share access to specialist equipment and practical knowledge, bringing together interests in technology, craft and creative production.

The facilities include dedicated spaces for electronics, 3D printing, textiles, chemistry and casting, as well as workshops for wood, plastic and metal. Equipment includes CNC milling machines, laser cutters, pick-and-place machinery for electronics and more than ten 3D printers. Members create a wide range of work, from electronics, software and furniture to sculptures, costumes, musical instruments, jewelry and prototypes.

Bitraf also offers courses and workshops, covering both equipment use and broader techniques and concepts; many are free, while some are reserved for members. Membership fees support the premises, equipment and improvements, with several monthly membership levels available. The community also hosts artists and creative subcultures, and offers branded merchandise such as T-shirts, mugs and stickers.
