Black Grip

Black Grip is a skateboard school and skate shop based in Biscarrosse Plage, France, created to make skateboarding accessible to people who may not have a skatepark nearby or prior experience. Formerly known as Sea Surf and Sun, the organisation was founded by Hugo and is run with a team of four passionate instructors. Its teaching approach emphasizes kindness, listening, gradual progress and enjoyment, helping riders learn safely and feel comfortable from their first session.

Lessons are available from age four through adulthood, with group classes and private sessions for individuals, families or friends. Beginners can learn on cruisers, longboards and surfskates without needing an advanced level. More experienced skaters can pursue development sessions in surfskating, longboard dancing and skatepark practice. Black Grip also operates a skate shop offering new and second-hand equipment, a test centre, and guidance for choosing a board. The team additionally provides skate rentals, helping children and adults explore skating and build confidence at their own pace.
