The BLACKBONE Project is an entrepreneurship initiative launched in March 2023 by the Congress Heights Community Training & Development Corporation (CHCTDC), with support from the community and JPMorgan Chase. Based at the BLACKBONE Headquarters in Washington, DC, it is designed to empower Black women innovators, founders, and business leaders through entrepreneurship and small-business development.
The project’s BLACKBONE Cohort program helps Black women-identifying founders access community, capital, and capacity building as they work toward business milestones and economic advancement. Its support includes resources, mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities to develop an idea, launch a startup, or grow an existing enterprise. The headquarters also serves as a coworking hub for women entrepreneurs.
Regular meetups and other events encourage participants to connect, share insights, and build professional networks. Through its programs and community activities, the BLACKBONE Project aims to foster an environment where entrepreneurs can strengthen their businesses and pursue their goals. The organization also welcomes partners and volunteers who want to contribute to its work in the community.
