Blackfish Charters

Blackfish Charters offers fishing and sea trips from Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, and has operated from the Kowie since 1978. Skipper Darren de Bruin takes local and visiting anglers out, as well as people looking for a sightseeing trip. Options include inshore bottom fishing for beginners and experienced anglers, offshore game fishing, two- to three-hour sightseeing trips, custom packages, and a planned long-distance yellowtail trip to Bird Island in Algoa Bay. Trip availability depends on weather, season, and sea conditions, and a request is not confirmed until the skipper agrees on the date and details.

Fishing trips include rods and tackle, fresh bait, soft drinks, and water. Ladies and juniors are welcome, and all fishing guests need a valid fishing licence. Charters use Blackfish and Black Majik, two Butt Cat catamarans designed for the rough waters of the coast.
