Black History Month UK is a national platform dedicated to celebrating Black British history, culture and contributions. Marked each October, it helps schools, workplaces, organisations and communities create meaningful programmes through education, events and trusted resources. Its 2026 theme, “Honouring Our Communities,” recognises the people whose contributions enrich everyday life but may otherwise go unseen.

The brand offers a wide range of editorial and educational content, including interviews, opinion pieces, videos, poetry, book features and profiles of campaigners, innovators, artists, leaders and other notable figures. Its history coverage spans pre-colonial history, slavery, science and medicine, service and sacrifice, sport, music and the achievements of Great Black Britons.

For educators and organisations, Black History Month UK provides a magazine and a resource pack featuring exhibition materials, lesson plans, audio profiles and practical campaign resources. The website also promotes Black History Month events through national and regional listings, invites organisers to submit events, and shares news, event highlights, job-search links and newsletter updates.
