Black in Anatomy is a community organization founded on October 16, 2020, to celebrate and amplify Black contributions to anatomical science. It provides a welcoming space for Black contributors and their allies to connect, share their work, and support one another. The community welcomes anatomists, anthropologists, neuroscientists, medical illustrators, healthcare workers, and anyone who uses anatomy in their work or research, or simply has an interest in the subject.
Black in Anatomy helps members build connections through events and offers opportunities to be featured in its newsletter. Members can share publications, career updates, their own work, or stories about others they wish to highlight. The organization also hosts Black in Anatomy Week, with annual editions and related programming, and marks events such as World Anatomy Day and its anniversary. Its website provides event information, archived features, resources, and access to the team. Visitors can join the community, shop, subscribe to the newsletter, or donate to support its work.
