About Black Knight Vineyards
Black Knight Vineyards, located in Petaluma, CA, has a rich tradition of grape growing dating back to the 1880s. The first vines were planted and thrived until prohibition. With a vineyard built by California, Black Knight Vineyards offers a wide range of exceptional products and services.
At the end of the 19th century, the property housed various agricultural businesses, including dairy, olives, and Christmas trees. In 1980, the vines were replanted with Chardonnay, Syrah, and Merlot. In 2007, the Black family purchased the property and recognized its potential for cool climate varietals.
Today, the vineyard spans 32 acres, featuring cool climate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir, and Ploussard. Managed by Vigneron Mitch Black and a dedicated crew, the vineyard boasts five soils derived from metavolcanics, 22 microclimates, and sustainable practices. The hand-made wines are a testament to the passion and meticulous work of the vineyard's stewards.
Led by Winemaker & Vineyard Manager Mitch and Director of Sales & Tasting Room Manager Lexine, the Black Knight team is committed to producing award-winning wines that embody the unique terroir of the vineyard. From vine to bottle, each step is carefully executed to create unforgettable wines. Explore the diverse offerings of Black Knight Vineyards and experience the true essence of California winemaking
