About Black Oystercatcher
Black Oystercatcher Wines | Bredasdorp is a boutique wine brand located near Agulhas, the cool tip of Africa. They specialize in producing cool climate wines from their vineyards in Elim, a maritime ward known for its unique geology and climate. The brand was founded in 1998 by Dirk Human, who is not only the owner but also the winemaker and viticulturist.
With their knowledge of the land and its diverse features, including sand plains, wetlands, limestone, and calcareous dunes, they have selected the perfect location for their vineyards. Today, Black Oystercatcher produces around 80,000 bottles of exclusive boutique wines annually. Their wine selection includes Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé, Shiraz, and reserve wines.
In addition to wines, they also offer craft beer, fresh snacks at their deli, wood-fired pizza, and self-catering cottages for visitors to enjoy a time-out on the working wine farm.
