Black Therapists in

Black Therapists in AZ is a community-focused directory created by the Black Therapists in AZ Coalition to help people find Black, culturally competent, and culturally affirming mental health care throughout Arizona. Launched in 2022, the directory brings together professionals including counselors, social workers, psychologists, and mental health prescribers. Visitors can search by location or category, browse profiles, compare providers, and contact professionals who may suit their needs. The site also includes a directory of life coaches and resources to help people learn about mental health support.

Beyond connecting clients and providers, the coalition works to improve access to care and reduce stigma through community programs and events. Its free “Meet the Black Therapists in AZ” gatherings offer education, discussion, and opportunities to connect with professionals and community resources. The Afya Nia Mental Health Voucher Program has provided vouchers for therapy sessions with coalition-member therapists. BTAZ also supports behavioral health professionals through Soul Sessions, a continuing education event focused on culturally responsive care and the mental health needs of Black communities.
