About Blanton Museum
Blanton Museum of Art's New Grounds Initiative has reimagined and revitalized Austin's art museum, offering visitors a completely new and engaging experience. As you step onto the museum's refreshed grounds, you'll immediately sense the artistic spirit that also extends to the outdoor areas. From the elegant petals reaching towards the Texas sky to the vibrant native plantings and bold immersive art installations, the Blanton grounds welcome you like never before.
The initiative has successfully unified and revitalized the 200,000 square feet Blanton campus, featuring two buildings and the stunning Austin sculpture by Ellsworth Kelly. Collaborating with the renowned international design firm Snøhetta, the project is a testament to the vision and passion of lead architects Craig Dykers, John Newman, and Elaine Molinar, who are UT Austin alumni.
