Blissful Imperfection

Blissful Imperfection is a Rotterdam-based coaching, speaking and guest-teaching practice founded by Sharmi Bernabela. Drawing on her experience living with multiple sclerosis and other diagnoses, Sharmi supports people as they adjust to life with a chronic illness. Her approach focuses on helping clients shape a new life in which their own identity and choices remain central, rather than allowing illness to define them.

The practice also works with professionals who support people with chronic conditions, offering the perspective of a patient and peer with lived experience. Services include individual coaching around taking control and living with a diagnosis, talks and presentations, and guest teaching for professional or educational audiences. Blissful Imperfection also promotes greater social awareness of what it means to live with a diagnosis.

Sharmi’s background includes work as a specialised care worker and a pedagogical employee, alongside her role as an experiential coach and speaker. The site features personal reflections and diary-style stories about diagnosis, treatment and everyday life, giving visitors insight into the realities behind the support offered
