BLKHLTH

BLKHLTH is an organization dedicated to advancing health equity in Black communities through antiracist education, advocacy, research, and programs. Its work recognizes racism, rather than race, as a driver of health inequities and focuses on changing narratives, building collective power, and equipping communities to create lasting change.

The organization’s programs address health issues and community needs across several areas. BLKHLTH CARES is a fellowship that develops emerging health equity leaders through advocacy and leadership training. Its maternal health work champions safe, respectful, culturally grounded care for Black birthing people from pregnancy through postpartum. Cancer Equity initiatives seek to address disparities by expanding screening access, increasing education, and tackling social and environmental drivers of inequity. BLKHLTH also works in South Africa to strengthen community power and connections across the African diaspora.

BLKHLTH provides practical resources, including guides, workshops, training, videos, and articles on health rights, advocacy, culture, and community. Events and a photobooth celebrating Black joy and healing further support connection, storytelling, and engagement.
