Block Club Chicago is a nonprofit news organization that is committed to providing trustworthy and unbiased coverage of Chicago's vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. Founded by former DNAinfo Chicago editors, Block Club Chicago fills the void left by the shutdown of DNAinfo and Gothamist in 2017. With the support of over 3,000 Kickstarter backers and generous contributions from Civil, the organization has assembled a dedicated team of reporters who are passionate about delving into the stories that truly matter to the local community.

The name Block Club reflects their mission to foster community through in-depth reporting on the city's neighborhoods. Block Club Chicago aims to grow its coverage sustainably through the support of readers and donors. If you're interested in learning more about Chicago's block clubs or organizing one in your community, they have resources available.
