The American museum dedicated to films overhauled its visual identity.
The museum enlisted the help of agency Vedros for their rebranding. According to them, the project had been to “help refine the brand’s visual identity system. From wayfinding to Museum Store swag, to print collateral.”
Opened to the general public in September 2021, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is a museum dedicated to the cultural impact of the film industry and its history. The museum was founded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and is located in Los Angeles, California. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is the first and largest museum of its kind in the United States.
The museum houses more than 13 million film-related artifacts, which include film reels, screenplays, props, and costumes. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures also houses exhibitions and galleries. The first exhibition hosted by the museum was for the Japanese animator, screenwriter, and creator of Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki.
The museum is also a site for film screenings, with films such as House of Gucci, Last Night in SoHo, and Ambulance to name a few opening with a Los Angeles premiere in the museum.
