Democracy for Iowa is a grassroots political action organization dedicated to championing progressive values and candidates in Iowa. Established with the mission to elect socially progressive and fiscally responsible leaders, the organization collaborates closely with Democracy for America, founded by former Vermont Governor Howard Dean. The core principles of Democracy for Iowa emphasize active community engagement, honesty in policy representation, and a fierce commitment to opposing far-right agendas. Their advocacy covers a range of vital progressive policies, including universal health care, educational investment, equal rights, fiscal responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

To achieve these goals, Democracy for Iowa focuses on recruiting progressive candidates for various offices throughout the state, leveraging small grassroots donations to diminish the influence of special interests in politics. The organization also seeks to forge strategic partnerships with other like-minded groups to maximize resources and effectiveness. Through harnessing the power of the Internet, Democracy for Iowa continues to strengthen its grassroots communication and mobilization efforts within the community.
