Blood and Bone Seminar

Blood and Bone Seminar is an international virtual seminar series and educational community focused on hematology and related areas of medical research. Launched in March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced laboratories around the world to close, the series was created to bring routine, shared learning, and connection to researchers during a period of disruption. It features talks by scientists from around the globe, with seminars free to attend and speaker participation open to anyone interested in contributing.

The community invites medical professionals and others to join seminars or sign up to present. Its website organizes information and resources around topics including anemia, leukemia, platelets, sickle cell disease, bone marrow, osteoporosis, blood clotting, and red blood cells. Visitors can also explore speaker profiles, a Hall of Fame, a job board, and blog articles covering medical subjects such as hemolytic anemia and red blood cell function. In addition to its academic programming, Blood and Bone Seminar hosts regular online social hours, including a monthly happy hour and a twice-monthly coffee morning, helping participants connect beyond the talks.
