Blue-Cloud 2026 is an exciting Horizon Europe project that aims to provide a collaborative Open Science platform for marine research in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). With a focus on the blue research communities, Blue-Cloud 2026 offers simplified access to a vast array of multi-disciplinary datasets, analytics services, and computing facilities crucial for blue science. This project is instrumental in deepening our understanding of oceans, EU seas, coastal and inland waters, and is aligned with the EU Green Deal, UN SDG, EU Destination Earth, and the EU Mission Starfish on healthy oceans.

Through its core services, Blue-Cloud 2026 offers an easy and FAIR service for discovering and retrieving diverse data sets, a virtual research environment for collaborative marine research, thematic virtual labs for efficient workflows, and a comprehensive data catalogue. Coordinated by CNR, Trust-IT & MARIS, the project brings together a team of 40 partners from 13 EU countries, all committed to advancing marine research.

Funded by the Horizon Europe programme, Blue-Cloud 2026 is poised to deliver a core data service for the Digital Twin of the Ocean, contributing to the collective efforts towards a healthier marine environment.
