Blueberry is a Joint Venture (JV) company created by leading data acquisition systems manufacturers, HBK and Dewesoft. The purpose of Blueberry is to establish standardization for the new generation of DAQs called openDAQ. openDAQ SDK is a user-friendly software development kit jointly developed by HBK and Dewesoft.

With openDAQ SDK, users can easily configure and receive data from any openDAQ compatible sensors, devices, and instruments in their preferred programming environments. The SDK is compatible with Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. Blueberry aims to create a compatibility lab and welcome interface programmers, DAQ and sensor manufacturers, and system integrators to join the community.

The overall goal of the Blueberry - openDAQ partnership is to standardize device communication interfaces, improve device backbones, and develop embedded software elements for a comprehensive Test & Measurement ecosystem. The openDAQ Reference Device, developed by Blueberry, allows stakeholders to evaluate the openDAQ SDK with real hardware. It simplifies data acquisition and transmission.

While openDAQ is not currently available for third-party development, plans for integrating other partners and potentially licensing the ecosystem are contemplated for the future. The openDAQ SDK is scheduled for release in June 2023. HBK and Dewesoft will continue to operate as independent companies and develop their own products, with new offerings aligning with the openDAQ SDK.

The openDAQ software development kit will provide customers with unprecedented vertical interoperability and the ability to integrate compliant hardware from both HBK and Dewesoft. Customer investment will be secure and new opportunities will arise
