Blue Earth Project

EcoMapper is an interactive mapping and community-engagement platform from the Blue Earth Project, focused on advancing ecological resilience in Southern Minnesota. It connects residents, businesses, and environmental leaders with local opportunities to take action, share information, and learn about environmental issues. Participants can adopt a river, lake, drain, zone, block, or property, report findings such as litter and illegal dumping, and explore community data, statistics, charts, and results. The platform encourages involvement through points, badges, redeemable credits, quizzes, surveys, and community leaderboards.

EcoMapper also supports a range of local initiatives, including Mankato Zero Waste, organics recycling options, a business plastics recycling program, and the Buy Nothing Project in Mankato and North Mankato. Other resources include citizen reporting and surveys, block leadership, courses, a Waste Wizard, infographics, and an events calendar. Users can get involved by volunteering, joining a team, signing up for updates, donating, or downloading the app. Together, these tools help communities participate in environmental stewardship and track local action.
