Blue Hope

Blue Hope Foundation is an independent New Zealand charity supporting police and paramedic workers, ambulance personnel, and their families when injury or trauma affects their lives and work. Founded in the New Zealand police community, the organisation brings specialist experience in supporting police workers and is extending its approach to frontline emergency workers facing similar challenges, including PTSD, cumulative trauma, moral injury, family strain, and disrupted rehabilitation.

Blue Hope provides practical guidance and coordinated support to help people navigate ACC processes, employment systems and rights, GP referrals, and the mental injury system. Its work focuses on early assistance and recovery coordination for those physically or psychologically injured in the line of duty, helping them understand available pathways and avoid facing complex systems alone. The foundation is clear that it is not a clinical provider; rather, it helps individuals and families connect with processes and support relevant to recovery. Blue Hope also offers information for families, insurance and ACC guidance, and ways for the public to contribute through donations, sponsorship, and events such as the Hope Ride.
