The Blueprint Alliance is an open, multi-vendor coalition of industry leaders working to help enterprises secure and govern autonomous AI agents. Maintained and legally represented by Okta, Inc., the initiative addresses the gap between rapid agent adoption and the security controls needed to manage agents responsibly. Its central offering is a vendor-neutral reference architecture for extending zero-trust principles to AI execution across enterprise systems.

The Blueprint framework helps organizations discover and register agents, define task-specific permissions, monitor actions at runtime, and respond to threats with precise controls. Its guiding principles treat each agent as a distinct identity, limit access to the task at hand, trace delegated actions, monitor behavior continuously, enable rapid and reversible containment, and adapt governance as AI capabilities evolve. Execution context, risk signals, telemetry, logging, and observability support these capabilities.

The Alliance also works to share signals, test interoperability across open standards such as MCP, OCSF, SSF, and CAEP, and publish joint results and reference integrations. Organizations can access the architecture through the Alliance’s whitepaper.
