Bluff’s Little Thinkers

Bluff’s Little Thinkers (BLT) is a licensed early childhood education and childcare center in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Opened in 2013, the center serves children from six weeks to five years old, with part-time and full-time care options for several age groups. Its mission is to provide a stimulating educational environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development and encourages lifelong learning.

BLT offers age-appropriate classrooms, developmentally tailored learning activities, lesson plans, and screenings to help identify children’s individual needs. The renovated facility includes five classrooms, a large playground designed for children from six months to five years, and a sensory room with specialized equipment to support children who need a calm space to regulate and refocus. The center also emphasizes outdoor play, family communication, and inclusive care.

Safety measures include a secured entrance, cameras, silent alarms, and staff training in CPR, first aid, and mandated reporting. BLT is open Monday through Friday, and families can use the Playground app for classroom updates and communication with administrators.
