The BMTA Trust is a registered charity supporting people and families with connections to the British automotive and motor trade industries. Established as a charity in 1967, it builds on the British Motor Trade Association’s longstanding links with the sector. The Trust provides one-off grants to help people overcome financial barriers to education, training and employment in the motor industry, with a particular focus on training, welfare and education.
Support is available to eligible apprentices and adults, as well as young people pursuing automotive careers. Grants may contribute to course or tuition fees, tools, travel and living costs. Colleges and training providers can also find information and support through the Trust’s resources. Applicants must be at least 16, receive little or no financial support, and be committed to a goal in the motor industry; applications can be submitted online.
The BMTA Trust works with industry associations and charities, including SMTA, the Institute of the Motor Industry, Ben and the Independent Garage Association.
