Boarding Axe Kitchen

Boarding Axe Kitchen, Inc. is a Vermont nonprofit initiative working to address hunger and food insecurity through food access, education, and training. Described as a food shelf adjunct and an aspiring soup kitchen, the organization is building toward a broader food service and culinary training model. Its current work centers on preparing and sharing practical, nourishing meals, using available resources thoughtfully, and documenting the skills and systems that can support sustainable community food service. The organization aims to serve people with dignity while helping ensure that no stomach, plate, or seat is left empty.

Boarding Axe Kitchen also runs a cooking blog featuring recipes, culinary tips, organizational updates, and stories about food access and advocacy. Its recipes range from economical, crowd-sized dishes to comforting everyday meals, including lentil-based vegetarian options. Through its posts and community outreach, the initiative connects cooking with social impact and invites supporters to follow its work, share stories, and contribute to its mission of using food to support food security.
