The Boat Building Academy is a renowned institution in the marine industry, offering comprehensive boat building and woodworking courses. Founded in 1997 by naval commander Tim Gedge, the academy was established to bridge the gap in the industry by training skilled boat builders. Located in Monmouth Beach, Lyme Regis, the Academy is housed in a former RAF lookout post, providing a unique and inspiring learning environment.
The Boat Building Academy offers a variety of courses for individuals of all skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or want to refine your existing skills, there is a short course for everyone. You can also create a customized training program by combining multiple short courses.
Additionally, the Academy offers a 40-week Boat Building Course for those seeking a more in-depth and immersive learning experience. In 2009, the Academy expanded its offerings to include furniture making courses, following the same principles of intensive and practical skill development. The Boat Building Academy & Furniture School continues to provide top-notch training to individuals from all walks of life who share a common passion for building and making.
By enrolling in a course at the Boat Building Academy, you'll gain the expertise and practical skills needed to pursue a career in woodworking or boatbuilding, or simply learn a new skillset. Don't miss the opportunity to embark on a fulfilling journey of craftsmanship and creativity
