Bob Skinner’s Ski & Sport is a full-service ski shop serving the Lake Sunapee region and Mt. Sunapee skiers since 1952. Owned and managed since 1985 by Newport local and former U.S. Ski Team racer Frank MacConnell, the shop specializes in alpine ski racing, expert boot fitting, and equipment for recreational skiers and snowboarders. Its selection includes recreational and racing skis, ski boots, jackets, pants, gloves, goggles, FIS helmets, snowboards, and other winter gear.
Customers can rent well-maintained skis, snowboards, boots, and helmets, with afternoon rentals available from 1 p.m. The shop’s master boot fitters use shell and liner molding to help customize footwear for comfort and performance across skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and other athletic activities. Through Edgewise Elite Ski Service, Bob Skinner’s also provides precision ski and snowboard tuning, sharpening, and waxing, with services available for skis shipped to the shop. Combining experienced staff, specialized equipment, retail gear, rentals, fitting, and tuning, Bob Skinner’s offers a comprehensive resource for winter sports in the region.
