Taiwan’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is a government service agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, supporting the public with passport, visa, document certification, and overseas travel services. It provides information and application guidance for Taiwanese citizens seeking new, renewed, or replacement passports, including services for applicants in Taiwan and abroad. Eligible citizens can use online passport form-filling and appointment services, and some may apply for passport renewal online under specified conditions.

The Bureau also offers visa information and online application services for foreign nationals travelling to Taiwan, as well as guidance on document authentication, application locations, forms, and processing status. For people travelling overseas, it publishes travel advisories and safety information, provides a travel registration service, and offers emergency assistance information for Taiwanese nationals abroad. Its website brings together service updates, frequently asked questions, downloadable forms, and contact channels, including an emergency contact centre. Through its digital tools and in-person services in Taiwan and overseas, the Bureau helps users prepare travel documents and access consular support.
