Boeren- en BeestenBoel

The Bunschoter Boeren- en BeestenBoel (BBBB) is an annual community event celebrating the agricultural heritage and traditional rural life of Bunschoten, the Netherlands. Organised each May or June since 1998, it transforms the village’s historic Dorpsstraat into a lively farmers’ market, welcoming visitors of all ages. The event brings together local agricultural products, livestock, traditional crafts and farming vehicles, offering a close-up look at country life past and present.

Visitors can browse market stalls, sample regional produce and watch demonstrations of traditional skills, including basket weaving, lace-making, spinning, clog-making, old-fashioned washing and hay threshing. The programme also features performances, activities for children, a livestock show and a parade of historic tractors and other agricultural vehicles. Bunschoten’s old farmhouses, the Dorpsstraat church tower, the De Hoop grain mill and rural objects such as haystacks and milk churns help create a historical setting. The BBBB shares local traditions through an engaging day of demonstrations, exhibits and entertainment. The 2026 event is scheduled for 30 May.
