About Board of Geologists
The Board of Geologists Malaysia, also known as BoG, was established in 2014 under the Geologists Act 2008, Act 689 Laws of Malaysia. The main objective of the board is to register geologists and regulate geological practice in the country. They also handle related matters pertaining to the profession.
Despite facing initial challenges, the registration process has been steadily progressing, with over 600 geologists already registered. The Board is comprised of 14 members, including representatives from public services, private practice, and the Institute of Geology Malaysia. They have three committees: Corporate Services and Finance, Legal, Ethics and Discipline, and Development and Professional Program.
Each committee plays a crucial role in overseeing different aspects of the board's functions.
